Your body and mind are alive with memories and emotions that impact you every day. They flow throughout your body, and are secreted away in your very cells, organs and DNA, waiting patiently until you are ready to hear the stories held deep within you.
These embodied memories, ancient and present, color how you experience your world and when similar emotionally charged situations reemerge in the present, these memories and emotions will reignite. This can be intense and unsettling.
What can you do? How can you release these old memories and
emotions and transform your pain into peace? Memory In Our Bones answers these questions and many more, as it explores how memory and experience are interwoven, embodied and timeless.
With clarity and compassion you will discover new ways to safely explore your inner world, and find five simple steps to take to dissolve painful emotions, relationship struggles and symptoms like never before.
Memory In Our Bones is an amalgym of spirituality, psychology and science. This award-winning book broadens and expands current understanding of healing, embodiment and consciousness. Well researched, intelligent, warm, accessible, and direct.
What I have experienced myself and observed in clients since 1984 is that traumatic experiences, powerful emotions, affinities, behaviors and beliefs, continue beyond physical death. These experiences remain unconscious and lie dormant within your mind and are preserved within your body and can resurface when triggered by people, places, objects and emotions that are similar to those you have felt in the past. Memories survive until they are resolved and can have a profound effect on your mind, body and emotions.
Lynn's Story
In 1991 I witnessed for the first time in someone other than myself the extraordinary grip past life memory has upon the physical body. Lynn, a massage therapist in her late 30's, came to see me because she had been experiencing an irregular heartbeat for about a year. She had investigated her heart's unusual beat while studying massage, but she always fell short of understanding why her heart plagued her so.
Then, one day her symptoms intensified and she was rushed to the hospital as her heart raced out of control. After exhaustive testing, Lynn was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect that she had since birth. Now, years later, in a class I was teaching, Lynn would discover the cause of her heart's irregular and rapid beat.
As I lead her class in a simple visualization into their hearts, Lynn swept beyond the heart of her 30's, 20's and childhood, instantly feeling a cold stone under her back and a canopy of rain forest overhead. In that moment, images, memories and emotions poured into her consciousness, as she remembered and relived the original wound to her heart that corresponded to her present-day symptoms. This new knowledge helped her begin to release the trauma held deep in her heart. She sat in awe as understanding dawned of how she had been impacted and affected by these ancient memories that were held in her heart from another time and place.
Miraculously she said that within a period of six months she was symptom free. I realized then that others could experience what I had and heal their most perplexing and traumatic physical problems by exploring the origins of their symptoms. My life took a dramatic turn as I realized the possible applications of what I had now seen in another person. This book and the years of research it represents are a culmination of that wintry night in 1991.
Since that time I have witnessed clients remarkable recoveries as they have released memories from their childhood, from pre-natal experiences and from past lives. You will meet others who have faced and released memories of fear and trauma and hear the stories of people who have resolved physical, emotional and relationship problems by understanding and unraveling the imprinted memories and emotions held within their cells and body. I will share their stories and give you the tools to journey within to find healing and release for yourself.
For a decade my lovely readers have asked me
to write a new version of Memory In Our Bones. 2020 gave me time to finally do just that. I have revised and edited the entire book. I took out annotations, created a new cover & interior design and added new material and a concise user-friendly summary of the five profound yet simple steps of Transforming Embodiment ®.
